Label2 by Alen Pinku and Andrea Popovic

Now living in Milan, Italy, the two designers of Label2 are Alen Pinku, originally from Serbia, and Andrea Popovic, from Bosnia. The two met during their studies and started working togther.

You are from Serbia but you are living in Italy at the moment. How do you perceive those two environments in terms of fashion and style?
That is quite interesting, and we are very proud about our rich history, which is always present as the idea. At the beginning, both of us had different views, but living and growing up here slowly changed our minds.

What inspires you in general?
Music, people, art, details…

What is it like to be a young designer in your city/country?
It is quite difficult, but we are fighters.

Meet fashion designer Maddalena Mangialavori

Please introduce yourself: My name is Maddalena Mangialavori and I'm a young Italian fashion designer. I've always had an inexplicable but visceral passion for fashion, and after my BA in fashion design in Florence I decided it was time for me to do a more "international" experience. So I came to London. I just graduated at a Master Level, after 17 months of hard work, in Fashion Design Technology at London College of Fashion.

What inspires you in general? I'm a traveller. I've always been since I was a kid, and I'm used to absorb as much as I can from the places I visit, from different cultures, different traditions. I would say inspiration comes from opening yourself to a certain reality and let some of that reality touch your chords. But inspiration is just the beginning of a journey, it just points me a direction and once I find it I usually spend a loooot of time researching and digging on a certain topic, and THAT really feeds my creativity.

Where are you based? I now divide myself between London and Italy.

Theatrical Encounters: '[un]folding space' by Juliette Bogers

Juliette Bogers, born in Roosendaal, a little town in the south of the Netherlands near the border of Belgium. Growing up close to a border made me become curious to know what´s behind. Different cultures, different perspectives and different point of views offer an inspirational knowledge of world we are living in. When exploring the boundaries of the field of fashion to search my place in it, I feel the same urge to know what´s behind and by what it’s inspired. By working with different disciplines within the same period of time, new perspectives broaden and inspire my view on the field. Photography and choreography are two disciplines that are close to me; the first one looks at the world from another perspective and the second one explores your place and space in it. I love to work and design with the moulage method; the fabric leads the design around the body until the most ultimate form is found.
